Second Graders Express "Feelings"

Second graders were given a digital camera and asked to take pictures of their classmates’ expressing an emotion/feeling. Then they each created a page with their feeling in a Microsoft PowerPoint that was later created into a PDF for an ebook. Students also discussed what these feelings mean and how to handle these feelings for them selves and for others. Students will recieve a CD of their feelings PowerPoint to share with family and friends.

Second Graders Exploring Websites!

Second graders have been exploring websites that are both educational and fun. Students have been learning how to type directly into the URL bar, use the front and back arrows, and how to properly print from the Internet. These explorations have been site specific. Students also learned about iGoogle and how to setup their own iGoogle page with fun activities that inspire and make them giggle. Next we will use the Internet to search for material which will include Internet safety websites. Searching the Internet can be fun and dangerous at the same time. We will discuss what is appropriate for their eyes and what to do if they come across material that is not appropriate. The Internet is a vast resource that if used properly can open the world to our students.
